Arne van Hunnik (PhD)
Dr Arne van Hunnik physiologist, obtained his PhD in 2019, which focused on the dynamical properties of electrical conduction on the heart and atrial contractility during atrial fibrillation. His research interests include fundamental understanding of of actions of antiarrhythmic drugs and how to improve them, and the mechanistic understanding of the dynamics of conduction properties during arrhythmia perpetuation. Previously he has buildup a strong background in hemodynamics and multi-site pacing in the context of Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT). The use of large animal models, in these cardiovascular research domains, have played an important role to bridge the electrophysiological and hemodynamic properties in his work.
